Dr. Alexios Lekidis is currently Assistant Professor in Intelligent Energy Systems at the University of Thessaly, Dpt of Energy Systems. He is specialized in the fields of energy forecasting, e-mobility, IoT and Next Generation Networks, cyber-security, Renewable Energy Sources as well as 5G and beyond cellular networks. His activities involve the coordination and technical management of Horizon Europe projects in energy management systems (including storage, RES and Electric Vehicle integration). Previously he held the position of technical manager for 20 EU-funded Horizon H2020 and Horizon Europe projects in the fields of smart meters, e-mobility, IoT, cyber-security, Renewable Energy Sources (RES), 5G and Next Generation Networks. Moreover, he worked as CTO in the setup of the DEI Blue e-mobility charging network, where he was responsible for the developments, operations as well as maintenance of the chargers, research and customer journey. Earlier, he was working as a Senior Research Engineer in Intracom Telecom for projects related to the design and development of telco solutions for 5G, focusing on NFV technologies. He also worked in the network security industry as a Technical Lead at ForeScout and ENCODE, focusing on network monitoring/security as well as Managed Industrial Security Services. Finally, he has worked on improving the design of lithography machines using algorithmic modeling and digital circuit printing techniques at ASML.
As part of his academic work, he holds a PhD in “Formal Modeling of Internet of Things Systems” (Theoretical Computer Science) from the University of Grenoble and was a Lecturer on a 3-year tenure at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Additionally, he has a total of 42 publications in international conferences and journals (27 conference and 15 journal papers), h-index 13 and 575 citations. In total, he has participated as a scientific officer or technical/project manager in 27 European Horizon Europe and Horizon H2020 projects. Dr. Antonios Sarigiannidis received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Also, he holds PhD in communication networks from the same department. He is author or co-author of more than 35 journal paper and conference papers such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics και IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials. He has received 4 Best Paper Awards in international conferences, namely, IEEE CAMAD (2019), IEEE MOCAST (2020), IEEE CSR (2021). He has been involved in more than 8 national and European RD projects including Horizon 2020 such as 5G-INDUCE, SMART5GRID, EVIDENT, TERMINET, RESPOND-A , CARAMEL, SDN-microSENSE, SPEAR. He is co-founder of research and development company K3Y Ltd (https://k3ylabs.com/). His research interests include telecommunication networks, 5G networks, Internet of Things (IoT), network security and cybersecurity, software defined networks (SDN) and smart grid. He is a certified CISCO Instructor (2020) and CEH (Certified of Ethical Hacker – 2020) and has over 8 years of teaching experience in Universities.

Athanasios Papaioannou is Assistant Professor at the Department of Digital Industry Technologies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Principal Researcher at the Services, Technology and Economics Laboratory (http://stecon.cs.aueb.gr) of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (1998) and a Master’s Degree (2000) from the Department of Computer Science of the University of Crete, and a PhD (2007) in Informatics with “Honours” from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
His thesis was in the area of economic networks entitled “Accounting Data Collection Architectures and Incentive/Billing Mechanisms in Telecommunication Environments”. From 2008 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in the Distributed Information Systems Laboratory.
He has 80 peer-reviewed publications (including 1 book and 15 journal articles) that have received notable recognition from the scientific community with more than 1,950 citations.
His main research interests include optimal cloud computing resource management, the distributed ledger, demand response mechanisms in the smart grid, incentive mechanisms in telecommunication environments, and trust and privacy issues. He has contributed research in the above research areas to over 22 European and national funded research projects.

Dimitrios Kosmanos received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Thessaly, Greece, in 2020. He is currently working as an Adjunct Lecturer at the department of Digital Systems University of Thessaly. He was collaborating as a Fellow Researcher with the CERTH Department of Volos and a Research Assistant with De Montfort University, U.K. He has authored or coauthored technical papers in international conferences and ISI/Scopus-indexed journals. His current research interests include intrusion detection systems for suppressing denial of service attacks in vehicular ad hoc networks, physical layer error detection, and correction techniques. He has been a TCP member in international conferences.

Dr. Fotios Gioulekas conducted his Postdoctoral Research at the Department of Informatics of AUTH. He has participated in Research & Innovation Programs of the European Union (FP7, HORIZON 2020) and of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Design & Development of Critical Space Applications, Networks & Cybersecurity, Electronic Health, Telecommunication Systems and Error Correction Codes . He worked as a Research Engineer at the Institute of Industrial Systems (IN.VIS), at the Institute of Informatics and Communications Technologies (IPTIL) of EKETA as well as at Semiconductor Design and Physical Level Network Design Incubators. He taught as a Teacher (PD 407/80) at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras as well as in the Master’s Program of the Department of Informatics Engineering of ATEI Larisa.
